A child was reported under a train at BART’s San Leandro station Thursday morning, an agency spokeswoman said.
The incident was reported at about 9:30 a.m. and has shut down train service between the Fruitvale and Bay Fair stations, BART spokeswoman Alicia Trost said shortly after 10 a.m.
Trost did not immediately have information on the condition of the child, who ended up underneath a train headed from Fremont toward Daly City.
Trains are being turned around at Fruitvale and Bay Fair and BART officials are working to set up a bus bridge to take passengers between those stations, Trost said.
