Body found hanging in tree

Sheriff’s deputies found a body hanging in a tree in Greenfield Thursday morning, said the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies found the body in the area of El Camino Real and Thorne Road at 11:12 a.m., the Sheriff’s Office said. The individual was found hanging in the tree, and the Sheriff’s Office said the body had been there “for a few weeks.”

The Sheriff’s Office said they would release the name of the person pending family notification. No further information was available at this time.
