BART service remains stopped in both directions between Pleasant Hill and Pittsburg/Bay Point Monday morning after police confirmed they found a body on the tracks between Concord and the North Concord stations.
The report came in around 8:50 a.m. of blood and human remains on the tracks, BART spokeswoman Alicia Trost said. BART is not allowing service in the area to keep it safe for emergency responders at the location of the body.
The transit agency was still attempting to set up a bus bridge for stranded riders between Pleasant Hill and Pittsburg/Bay Point as of shortly after 10 a.m., Trost said.
