An elderly man and woman are in the hospital Thursday morning after being hit by a car while crossing a San Ramon roadway, police said.
The couple was walking outside of a crosswalk on Albion Road near Silva Way around 9:20 a.m. when a driver who apparently did not see the pedestrians struck them, San Ramon police Sgt. E. Webb said.
The man appears to have suffered a skull fracture in the collision and the woman suffered minor injuries, according to Webb. Both were transported to hospitals.
The female driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the police investigation, Webb said. He said direct sunlight in the direction the woman was driving might have made it tougher for her to see the couple prior to the collision.
