Nga Pham bought the winning Scratchers scratch-off ticket at the Me-Kong Supermarket at 777 East Capital Ave. in Milpitas.
Officials said Pham had bought one Scratchers ticket monthly for a few months before winning.
She won the $5 million on the fourth ticket she purchased.
Pham told lottery officials she plans to use the winnings to pay off her house and car but hasn’t planned any extravagant purchases yet.
The supermarket will also receive a $25,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
