Suspects sought in Russian Hill stabbing

A man was stabbed multiple times in his upper body early this morning in San Francisco’s Russian Hill neighborhood, a police spokesman said.

At about 1:30 a.m., police responded to a report of a stabbing in the 1000 block of Broadway Street near Taylor Street, according to San Francisco police Officer Gordon Shyy.

Based on the preliminary investigation, police said the victim, a man in his 30s, was involved in a verbal altercation with two other men.

The altercation escalated and a suspect stabbed him multiple times in the upper body, Shyy said.

The suspects fled in a gray vehicle following the stabbing and remain at large.

The victim was taken to San Francisco General Hospital for treatment and is expected to survive his injuries, according to Shyy.
