Power outage darkens Berkeley, El Cerrito

Thousands of Pacific Gas and Electric customers are without power in Berkeley, Albany, and El Cerrito Thursday morning, according to PG&E.

A power outage affecting 5,327 customers was reported at 12:28 a.m., according to PG&E. The estimated time of power restoration is 3:45 a.m. The cause of the outage is under investigation.
