Filmed hazing incriminates teen suspects

Two Livermore high school football players were arrested last week for hazing a young teammate by holding him down and shaving part of his head, a police officer said.

The freshman football player’s mother called police about the incident last Wednesday evening and reported her son had been hazed in the boys’ locker room of Livermore Valley Charter Preparatory school at 2451 Portola Ave., Livermore police Officer Traci Rebiejo said.

Police arrested two 17-year-old students that evening on suspicion of misdemeanor hazing, false imprisonment and battery.

A third suspect is expected to be arrested sometime this week, Rebiejo said.

The players had apparently held the victim down while shaving part of his head, Rebiejo said.

One of the students videotaped the incident on his cellphone and police confiscated the recording as evidence.

The victim was not injured in the incident, so the arrested students will not face felony charges, Rebiejo said.
