Caltrans is closing state Highway 37 for construction work on two consecutive weekends and five weekday nights starting later this month.
The closure starts Sept. 19 for major maintenance and paving between state Route 121 in Sonoma County and state Highway 29 in Vallejo, Caltrans spokesman Vince Jacala said.
The full highway closure begins at 10 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 19 until 5 a.m. Monday, Sept. 22. The highway also will be closed the following weekend at 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26 until 5 a.m. Monday, Sept. 29. The five weeknight closures are between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. from Monday, Sept. 29 to Friday, Oct. 3.
All work is weather permitting and detour signs will be posted, Jacala said. Motorists from San Francisco and Marin County heading to Sonoma County are advised to take northbound U.S. Highway 101 to eastbound state Highway 116 when the closures are in effect.
