Muni T-Third train strikes pedestrian

A pedestrian was struck by a San Francisco Municipal Railway light-rail vehicle in the city’s Bayview District Monday morning, a Muni spokesman said.

The collision was reported at 5:01 a.m. near the intersection of Third Street and Carroll Avenue and involved a southbound train on Muni’s T-Third line, Muni spokesman Paul Rose said.

The pedestrian was taken to a hospital with head and facial injuries, Rose said. The crash caused delays on the T-Third line and for motorists on Third Street for more than two hours.

The collision scene was cleared and regular service resumed by 7:30 a.m.
