One dead, one injured in Bayview shooting

One person was killed and one injured in a shooting in the San Francisco’s Bayview District Friday night, according to police.

Police responded to the first block of Nichols Way just after 9:30 p.m. on a ShotSpotter activation indicating gunfire in the area.

Arriving officers found one male adult victim at the scene with upper body wounds. He was taken to San Francisco General Hospital but died of his injuries, police said.

A second adult male victim also arrived at San Francisco General Hospital by private car with a gunshot wound to his lower body. He is expected to survive his injuries, police said.

There is no suspect information available at this time, police said. Anyone with information on this shooting is asked to call police at (415) 575-4444 or text a tip to TIP411 with SFPD at the start of the message.
