Two men were robbed of their photography equipment late Sunday night in San Francisco’s Russian Hill neighborhood while they were taking photos of the city’s famously crooked Lombard Street, police said Tuesday.
The victims, both men in their 20s, were standing on Leavenworth Street at the base of Lombard Street at about 11:45 p.m. on Sunday taking photographs when two suspects, also described as men in their 20s, approached them, police said.
One of the suspects walked up to the victims, brandished a handgun and ordered them to hand over their cameras, police said. The other suspect acted as a lookout, according to police.
The victims handed over their cameras and a tripod to the suspect, police said. The suspect then ordered the pair to turn around and as soon as the victims did so, both suspects fled the area on foot, according to police.
