A four-alarm fire is burning in old military barracks on Mare Island in Vallejo tonight, a fire official said.
Firefighters responded to a report of a structure fire in the 400 block of Azuar Drive shortly after 7 p.m., fire Capt. Steve Smircich said.
The fire is burning in abandoned military barracks near North Gate, fire officials said.
The barracks are known to house “homeless activity,” Smircich said.
As of about 9:15 p.m., no injuries were reported, he said.
Crews from the Fairfield Fire Department are also assisting in battling the fire.
No further details were immediately available.
