Mountain View police on Friday arrested a 43-year-old man who allegedly abused children ages 7 and 10 while he worked as a handyman at an apartment complex, a police sergeant said today.
Ramiro Palacios, of Mountain View, was arrested on suspicion of committing lewd and lascivious acts with a child and was booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail, police spokesman Sgt. Saul Jaeger said.
The parents of the two girls notified police immediately after the children told them that a man had touched them inappropriately, according to Jaeger.
Police detectives determined that Palacios, while working as a handyman at the girls’ apartment complex in the 400 block of Moffett Boulevard, made contact with each girl separately over a period of several days, Jaeger said.
He lured them to a secluded area and touched them, police said.
The Police Department is asking for the public’s help to identify other children who may have been victimized by the suspect.
