Six saved from capsized canoe

Six people were saved with the help of a good Samaritan after their canoe capsized near the Golden Gate Bridge this afternoon, a U.S. Coast Guard petty officer said.

Around 3 p.m., the Coast Guard responded to a report from the good Samaritan of the capsized canoe near the south tower of the Golden Gate Bridge, Coast Guard Petty Officer Bob Egbert said.

The good Samaritan who was on a sailing vessel saved two people while crew members from a Coast Guard boat saved the other four, Egbert said.
