Police in Richmond arrested a man Tuesday night who allegedly wielded a bat against his girlfriend and had to be subdued with a Taser stun gun, a police spokeswoman said today.
Officers responded around 7:45 p.m. to a call from a woman who said her boyfriend had attacked and threatened her before arming himself with a bat and ramming her vehicle with his car, Richmond police Sgt. Nicole Abetkov said.
Police arrived at the woman’s home in the 500 block of Banks Drive near Point Pinole Regional Shoreline and found the suspect nearby.
After the man refused to comply with officers’ commands and took a fighting stance against them, police used a Taser to subdue him, Abetkov said.
The suspect, identified as 45-year-old Chester Lee Thomas, was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence and resisting arrest and was taken to county jail.
