Driver crashes Chinese restaurant, takeout unaffected

A driver crashed her car into a restaurant in San Francisco’s Nob Hill at the start of lunchtime, police and a restaurant employee said.

Around noon, a blue Lexus sedan driven by a woman crashed into a building in the 800 block of Bush Street, San Francisco police spokeswoman Sgt. Danielle Newman said.

Newman said the only person injured in the crash was the driver, who is expected to survive. No patrons or employees in the restaurant were injured in the incident, she said.

An employee at City Chopsticks Chinese restaurant at 883 Bush St. said it was scary when the car came into the building at the start of the lunchtime rush.

She said nobody was injured, but the front of the restaurant was damaged and there was shattered glass everywhere.

The seating area is closed for the rest of the day, but the employee said the restaurant is still offering delivery and takeout orders.
