Teen arrested in home invasion, sexual assault

San Jose police arrested a second male juvenile this afternoon in connection with a home invasion and sexual assault that took place earlier this week, according to a spokesman.

The boy was arrested around 3:30 p.m. following an investigation and will be booked into Santa Clara County Juvenile Hall, according to Officer Albert Morales.

He is the second person to be arrested in connection with the incident in the 1500 block of Sunshadow Lane, which occurred early Tuesday shortly before 4 a.m.

The first suspect, also a male juvenile, was arrested after a vehicle pursuit by the California Highway Patrol that ended in a crash into a home in the area of Singleton Lane and Senter Road around 4 a.m., according to police.

Dispatchers informed police that the vehicle in the crash matched the description of one stolen during the home invasion robbery about 10 minutes earlier.

The juvenile was taken into custody at the scene of the crash and the second suspect fled the area, according to Morales.

Police responding to the home invasion on Sunshadow Lane interviewed two victims who said the suspects entered the home, sexually assaulted one of them and then stole their vehicle, police said.

Police were able to confirm with the CHP that the vehicle that struck the home on Singleton Lane was the one stolen from the residence on Sunshadow Lane, Morales said.

The woman who was assaulted in the home invasion was transported to a hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening, according to police.

Police said on Tuesday that they thought the second, missing suspect would have a severe laceration on his body due to the crash.
