Missing woman found dead in creek

A 65-year-old woman who went missing in Fremont last week was found dead in Alameda Creek by her family the next day.

Fremont police asked for the public’s help in locating Sital Kaur after she was last seen on Egret Way around 3:40 p.m. Thursday. Kaur was considered at-risk due to her age, though she didn’t have a history of going missing, police said.

Family members then called police at 9:35 a.m. Friday to report they had found a body floating in Alameda Creek wearing the same clothes Kaur had been wearing when she went missing, police said.

The Alameda County coroner’s bureau today identified the woman as Kaur.
