Officers responded to a report of a man down on the ground in the 500 block of Piercy Road around 1:20 a.m., according to police.
Arriving officers found the man unconscious with visible injuries. He was not breathing and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The man had suffered at least one stab wound.
His death is San Jose’s 18th homicide of the year, according to police. San Jose reported 44 homicides in 2013, its third-straight year with 40-plus homicides.
