A Windsor family was robbed at gunpoint Thursday in a home invasion by three armed suspects, according to the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office.
Several members of the family contacted police shortly after 9 a.m. to report the robbery, which occurred at an apartment on Duncan Drive, according to Sgt. Shawn Murphy.
The family members said suspects knocked on the door and then forced their way in, saying they knew there was money inside.
The victims said they could not produce any money, so the suspects ransacked the area and then fled in an older four-door Honda Civic. The victims said they waited a while until the suspects were gone and felt safe before going to the police, Murphy said.
Police searched the area but could not locate the suspects, Murphy said.
The victims described the suspects as two Hispanic males and one female. One man was in his 20s, 5 feet 7 inches tall and 140 pounds with a dark complexion, and wearing a black beanie hat with cut-outs for his eyes. He was carrying a shotgun, which had been concealed in a San Francisco 49ers blanket.
The second man was in his late teens, and the woman was around 19 years old, 6 feet tall, heavy-set, with dark brown hair past her shoulders and no visible eyebrows. The tips of her hair were dyed blond.
The second man and the woman were both carrying handguns. Anyone with information on this case is asked to call (707) 565-2185.
