‘Upaj’ set for US television premiere

Upaj: Improvise, a documentary on the remarkable partnership between dance legends Pandit Chitresh Das and Jason Samuels Smith, will make its U.S. television debut this week on PBS.
The film, produced by Bay Area filmmaker Antara Bhardwaj and directed by Hoku Uchiyama, will be broadcast on KQED World Tuesday, Jan. 21 at 11 a.m.
KQED World can be found in the Bay Area on Comcast channel 190 or over-the-air at DT 9.3.
Upaj will debut in major U.S. markets in prime time on Monday evening on PBS World stations. A primetime airing in the Bay Area is expected in March.
