Two NFC West teams who don’t like each other collided at Candlestick Park on Sunday in the NFL’s best rivalry game.
Afterwards, 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh said:
“These games are only for the tough.”

Colin Kaepernick completed 15 of 29 passes for 175 yards and one touchdown to Vernon Davis along with one interception in what was hist first career victory over the Seahawks.
Kaepernick also ran nine times for 31 yards, saying postgame:
“It was a very physical game, this game was won upfront for us.”
The 49ers offensive line cleared the way for Frank Gore to to rack up 110 yards on 17 carries including a 51-yard dash in the fourth quarter that set up Dawson’s go ahead 22-yarder, his 20th straight conversion.
On Gore’s 100-yard game, Kaepernick said:
“He’s an amazing running back. He does everything for this team.”
Seattle was down by two with 26 seconds to get into field goal range, but on the ensuing kickoff, Bubba Ventrone tackled Golden Tate deep in Seahawks territory subsequently forcing Russell Wilson to air out a deep pass that was intercepted by Eric Wright sealing the 49ers victory.
Led by NaVorro Bowman’s nine tackles and one sack, the 49ers defense held Pete Carroll’s squad to just 264 yards on offense, though Marshawn Lynch and Luke Wilson both scored touchdowns and Steven Hauschka added three points.
Bowman commented on the big win:
“We needed to play from start to finish and I think we did that today.”
Anquan Boldin and Michael Crabtree combined for 10 catches for 133 yards and three-time Pro Bowl special teamer Kassim Osgood blocked a Jon Ryan punt early on that helped turn the game in the 49ers favor.
The 49ers improve to 9-4 and remain in line for the NFC’s sixth playoff spot while the Seahawks fall to 11-2, but remain in control of the division.
