The Bay Area has been awash with moonlight the past few nights, as clear skies and a Hunter’s Moon have combined to flip the light switch on our overnight hours.

October is the month of the Full Hunter’s Moon, the first full moon following the Harvest Moon last month. Some Native American tribes referred to this Moon as the Full Hunter’s Moon, as it was the time to go hunting in preparation for winter. Rising around sunset and setting around sunrise, the moon is in the sky all night long. SFBay Director of Photography Scot Tucker captured these images of the Full Hunter’s Moon over San Francisco Bay Friday night.
