In a preseason tilt between northern California’s two ECHL franchises, the San Francisco Bulls fell to the visiting Stockton Thunder 4-3 in a shootout Saturday night at the Cow Palace.
Two goals from Ryan McDonough and another from Scott Langdon weren’t enough to lift the Bulls past the visiting Thunder, as Stockton goaltender Parker Milner turned away 37 or 40 Bulls shots to notch the shootout win.
Former Bull Colin Reddin picked up two goals for the Thunder, including the game’s first score just 87 seconds in. Tyler Beskorowany made 21 saves in front of 2,307 announced fans in the losing effort.
The Bulls open their season with an eight-game road trip starting Thursday in Anchorage against the Alaska Aces. Puck drop is scheduled for 8:15 p.m. San Francisco time.
