SF Bulls add veterans for preseason opener

San Francisco Bulls training camp has been underway for almost a week now.

But the team continues to shift their training camp roster leading up to their preseason opener tonight at the Cow Palace against the Bakersfield Condors.

This week the team announced veteran forwards Anthony Aquino and Mark Lee — both with long resumes including play time over in Europe — had been signed to terms.

Lee, 29, just spent the past three seasons playing in Finland, and previously played in both the ECHL and AHL. The Newfoundland native registered nine points (four goals, five assists) in 52 games with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the AHL, and 191 points (64 goals, 127 assists) in 178 games spread over his tenure on three different ECHL teams.

Aquino, 31, has played hockey for seven different leagues in six different countries, most recently logging time in Italy’s top hockey league, Italy Serie A. During the 2010-2011 season he played for Valpellice alongside another new addition to the Bulls roster, Ryan McDonough.

The team also announced the release of forwards Paul Chiasson, Andrew Hamburg and Don Maloney, Jr. from the training camp roster.

Puck drop for tonight’s preseason action is set for at 7:30 p.m. at the Cow Palace.
