First you play, then you pay.
That’s the gentlemen’s agreement at gentlemen’s clubs. However, someone over at Oracle didn’t get the memo.
The New Century Theater, a strip club in The City’s Tenderloin district, is suing the company for unpaid charges swiped with the business credit card. The bill, according to the lawsuit, comes to a whopping $33,540.
The incident occurred during last year’s Oracle OpenWorld convention.
According to the lawsuit filed in San Francisco Superior Court, the employee used his Oracle-issued American Express card to pay $16,490 worth of unspecified “services” last Oct. 2.
A couple nights later, the man came back to the Larkin Street venue for an encore performance. This time the bill came to $17,050.
According to SFGate, an Oracle spokesperson declined to comment on the case.
The lawsuit emerges amid Oracle OpenWorld 2013, which kicked off Sunday at Moscone Center. Sixty-thousand people are expected to attend the five-day conference.
