The San Francisco Bulls increased their 2013-2014 roster to 15 players this week.
The club announced Tuesday they have signed defenseman Andrew Eastman. It will be the 22-year-old’s debut on a North American team:
“I’m excited to start my North American professional career. I have some experience playing pro in Germany, but it’s a different test here.”
The Aurora, Ontario native spent the last two seasons playing for the University of Western Ontario, part of the Canadian Interuniversity Sport, where he helped lead the team to the University Cup championship game in 2012. Eastman ranked first among defensemen with 17 points (3 goals, 14 assists) in 25 games.
Before playing for Western Ontario, the 5-foot-11, 182-pound Eastman played in the Ontario Hockey League and Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. He also logged playing time in Germany during the 2009-2010 season with the Bad Toelz and Landshut Cannibals.
The Bulls will open up their preseason on October 10 at the Cow Palace. The puck is scheduled to drop at 7:30 p.m.
