Police say a woman who died after being stabbed “numerous times” in a Suisun City apartment was able to tell police who stabbed her before she succumbed to her injuries.
Suisun City police say 30-year-old Lorena Martinez died in Fairfield’s NorthBay Medical Center after she was stabbed around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Officers arrived at the apartment after getting a report of a woman bleeding and asking for help. They say Martinez told them a man had stabbed her during an argument inside the apartment.
Police identified that man as Victor Mejia. Martinez died after being taken to the hospital, and police say Mejia is now wanted for murder.
After the attack, police say Mejia fled the apartment complex in Martinez’s car. The car was later found about 25 miles away on the shoulder of the road on the Benicia Bridge.
Police are asking for the public’s help in locating Mejia.
