Heemskerk, Grant return to the Bulls

More old teammates are returning to the Cow Palace just as the San Francisco Bulls cap off their inaugural season and head into their first playoff run.

The team announced via Twitter on Friday that goalie Thomas Heemskerk and forward Tommy Grant are headed back to San Francisco from the Worcester Sharks of the AHL.

Prior to a call-up to San Jose to practice with the NHL Sharks, Heemskerk (13-17-3) recorded a 3.16 goals-against average and a .904 save percentage in a Bulls uniform.

On the Wednesday night game preceding the recall, he stopped 43 of 45 shots against the Alaska Aces, whom the Bulls will be facing in Anchorage next week in the first round of the ECHL playoffs.

Heemskerk is expected to join the team tomorrow.

Grant, who tallied five points in four games with the Bulls, had just been sent up to Worcester at the beginning of this week. He is expected to be on the Bulls roster tonight against Idaho.

The San Francisco Bulls host the Idaho Steelheads in their season home finale tonight. The puck drops at 7:15 p.m.
