Baby, it’s wet outside

If you live under a rock with awesome insulation, news flash: It’s raining. Really, really hard.

Part two of this weekend storm arrived early Sunday morning, and its expected to dump up to three or more inches of rain in some places of the Bay Area. Thunderstorms, power outages and mudslides are also likely.

The heavy downfall has already caused at least 25 flights at San Francisco International Airport to be cancelled. In Sonoma County, the Petaluma River reached flood stages, and at least one tree to fell into a home.

If you plan to hop on a bridge today, travel with caution. With gusts up to 40 mph, The California Highway Patrol issued a wind advisory for motorists traveling the Bay Bridge, the Richmond San Rafael Bridge and the Hayward-San Mateo Bridge today.

For those dreaming of a white Christmas, up to five feet of the fluffy white stuff should fall upon the Sierra Nevada before the storm is through.

The next Bay Area storm, a less wet affair, is expected late Christmas Day.
