Bulls conquer Condors 4-1

Home from a three-game stint where point streaks were snapped, the Bulls came out to play on a foggy Wednesday night as they dominated the Bakersfield Condors 4-1.

The Bulls were coming off a rough road trip where they went 0-2-1. The hope was that performing on home ice would be in their favor.

Despite the road record, Head Coach Pat Curcio was pleased with how the team played on the road, and was happy to see that level of play carry over into Wednesday night’s match-up:

“Reality is … we might’ve gotten a win or two on the road. So I thought we played pretty well and I thought if we could continue to play that way here at home we’d have a little more success. They played really well tonight.”

San Francisco would score first with a flick-of-the-wrist shot by forward Daniil Tarasov, assisted by Justin Bowers and Scott Langdon 4:47 into the first period. Then, with 2:27 left in the first, Peter Sivak would take advantage of a Bakersfield penalty and get a power play goal, with help from Tarasov and fellow Slovakian Marek Viedensky.

The first period would end with the Bulls up 2-0, outshooting the Condors 12-7 before a sparse announced home crowd of 2,198.

Bakersfield’s Zach Cohen knocked home a power play goal to bring the score to 2-1 with 9:49 left in the period. But not a even a full ten seconds later, Sivak would put his second puck of the night into the Condors’ goal, giving the Bulls a 3-1 advantage.

Having a two point lead wasn’t enough for the home team as Dean Ouellet, with help from Bowers and Tarasov, made a dramatic goal to bring the score to 4-1. The period would end with the Bulls not only leading but outshooting the Condors, 25-12.

A scoreless third delivered the Bulls the 4-1 victory.

The San Francisco Bulls will be at home this Friday for the first of two games against the Colorado Eagles. The puck drops at 7:15 p.m.
