Two men in their 20s were shot in a car near the Metreon early Sunday morning, leaving one dead.
Given the high number of bars, clubs, and 24-hour grub hubs, it’s sad to hear that there weren’t enough people around the Metreon to foil what police are deeming a homicide.
Two men in their 20s were shot in a car near the Fourth and Mission complex early Sunday morning, leaving one dead the other hospitalized, BCN reports via the SF Appeal.
San Francisco police were alerted around 2:40 a.m. Sunday in response to the shooting. The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene.
The second victim was injured but taken to San Francisco General Hospital with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.
No information has been released yet on either victim.
While shootings are not as prevalent in SoMa as they are north of Market in the Tenderloin and Civic Center areas, Sunday morning’s shooting is one of five that have taken place in the past month, according to a SpotCrime map of San Francisco incidents.
Anyone with information about the shooting is encouraged to contact the SFPD by calling their anonymous tip line at 415-575-4444.
