Mega Millions winner, come get your money!

Anyone have a Mega Millions lottery ticket sitting around somewhere? Now might be a good time to check, because this week someone bought a ticket from a Kentfield liquor store winning $525,634.

So far, no one has come forward to claim the handsome sum, according to a California Lottery spokesman.

While the ticket sold at Colonial Liquors at 913 Sir Francis Drake Blvd. successfully matched the numbers of 10, 38, 36, 44 and 18, it did miss the Mega number 8, leaving today’s Mega Millions jackpot winnings at $36 million.

But don’t worry, half a million dollars can buy you a lot of things in the Bay Area. Here are some ideas:

If you happen to be the lucky owner of the winning ticket, your prize can be claimed at offices in South San Francisco and Hayward.

And if you’re in the market for buying another ticket, it seems Colonial Liquors has had quite the lucky streak with lottery players. In 2000, a customer won $19 million in the lottery, then in August 2008, another customer won $135,000.

Other Bay Area residents have also had a taste of luck this year. A waiter at Il Fornaio in Corte Madera won nearly $227,055 in the Mega Millions lottery, and a dozen employees at Stefano’s Solar Powered Pizza in Corte Madera, Novato and Mill Valley pooled their money and won more than $300,000.
