Okay, I don’t know where your family likes to congregate when everyone gets together in The City.
But MY family goes to Gordon Biersch.
After a Giants game. For a birthday. Heck, we’ve had Easter brunch there for about five years straight now.
So, as you can imagine, I had a miniature heart attack when my best friend forwarded me the Inside Scoop SF link that said that my favorite Embarcadero staple was closing.
Oh the humanity!!

But then I calmed myself down, and read the full article:
Gordon Biersch Brewery is leaving the location next month—April 28th to be exact—because the “brewpub” and owner couldn’t come to a mutual agreement with the company leasing the space.
Fear not, fellow beer-guzzlers. Gordon Biersch is planning to find a new location “in the immediate area.”
Sounds to me like they aren’t leaving San Francisco after all.
They’ll just have to find a two-story space as expansive as the Harrison & Embarcadero location they’ve been in for the past two decades.
Keep an eye out for where the resta-brewery will be relocating to. I know I will be eagerly waiting to see where they end up.
And probably grabbing a plate of steak-frîtes in the process.
