Kyle Williams, this 7-year-old has your back

Yes, I know. “Kids say the darned-est things.”

Kids also apparently have more of a heart and a conscience than most adults, who seem to think it’s okay to threaten the life of a professional athlete via social media forum.

It’s no secret that Williams received death threats via Twitter after his mishaps in last weekend’s NFC Championship game. And, frankly, for someone with as many angry fans coming after him as Williams did, nobody could blame the guy for not wanting to talk to another Niner fan for a very long time.

But a heartfelt, hand-written letter from a 7-year-old 49er fan might be just the thing to get Kyle Williams feeling comfortable again about opening up his mail.

HuffPo writer Ben Mankiewicz passed on the letter from his friend’s son, who—like most Niner fans last Sunday—was in the midst of a crying fit after Williams’ game-determining fumble.

But upon hearing his father ask, “If you feel this way, how sad do you think Kyle Williams is?” Owen had a very commendable response:

 “Can I write him a letter to make him feel better?”

Ah, yes. From the mouths of babes, we can overcome death threats on Twitter.

Here is what l’il homeboy had to say to Williams:

“Dear Mr. Williams:

We just watched the Playoff game. I feel really bad for you but I wanted to tell you that you had a great season. you sould be very proud, so I wanted to say thank you.

I am your #1 FAN!

I don’t know what’s better. The fact that this kid is more forgiving and compassionate than a whole bunch of adults with Twitter accounts, or that he punctuated the letter by telling Williams that he’s awesome.

Stay classy, kid.
