Post-playoff shooting injures Niners fans

When it comes to sports, it’s all playful taunting and jestful jeering — until someone with a poor sense of humor pulls out a gun.

That’s what happened yesterday, when police say an aggro New Orleans Saints fan fired multiple gun shots at two San Francisco fans after the 49ers won yesterday’s playoff game, 36-32. The incident, which took place in an Applebee’s parking lot in Georgia, left one Niners fan critically injured and the other with a slight head wound.

According to victim Corey Adams, he and friend Chris Middleton encountered their attacker inside the restaurant, where a heated argument about the game broke out. Back in the parking lot, Adams said the man reappeared with a gun and fired at them up to five times.

Adams was grazed in the back of his head, while Middleton, who recently moved back from California, remained conscious before being ushered away to a hospital in critical condition.

“He was talking,” Adams said. “He was laying on the ground talking about his kids, talking about his wife.”

Donald Ayro, 31, has been identified by the police as the shooter, and has been reportedly charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and two counts of aggravated assault.
