Giant LEGO Santa Yoda being built right now

Bay Area Star Wars fans — grab your cameras and light sabers. Here comes your next Facebook profile picture.

As you read these words, two certified LEGO Master Builders in San Francisco’s Union Square are erecting a 12-foot-tall LEGO Santa Yoda. Yes, LEGO Santa Yoda.

Uncertified LEGO enthusiasts (aka us aka the other 99%) are invited to help build the monstrous toy structure, which will stand only through the weekend. The event doubles as a benefit for the Bay Area Boys and Girls Club and helps promote Monday’s launch of LEGO’s holiday site. The latter will be used to help donate a million LEGO blocks to the US Marine Corps’ Toys for Tots program.

You can see Santa Yoda in person at Union Square from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today through Sunday.
